It’s been almost two weeks since we offered a quick Canon PowerShot G16 preview, the successor to the popular G15, and so we thought it would be the perfect time to see just how these two cameras compare. We say this because you will want to know if the new features are worth paying the extra price for?
We have come across two Canon PowerShot G16 vs. G15 quick comparison reviews to see how they stack up, one is a straight-forward comparison article, while the other is a video showing how Canon has managed to get more from the G-Series.
In the first showdown we have to say this covers all the major features of each of these cameras, and focuses on the reasons you would want to purchase the G15 and G16.
The reasons why you would want to purchase the Canon PowerShot G15 is because of its wide aperture of f/1.8, high speed movies at 240 fps, 24p movies to give you that awesome film look and finally, In-camera panoramas, giving you the ability to stich multiple photos together.
Compare this to the reasons you would want to but the Canon PowerShot G16, which are also a wide aperture and In-camera panoramas, but also a great tunnel viewfinder, and an external flash for improved lighting.
We have noticed the advantages of the Canon PowerShot G15 do seem to outweigh those of the G16, but this could be more to do with a much cheaper price.
The Canon PowerShot G16 price is around £529.00, while the Canon PowerShot G15 is about £319.00, which is £210 cheaper. That is a huge price difference and so you really need to make certain you need some of the new features that the G16 has to offer.
