BBM on iPhone and Android at last

We finally know when BBM will be on iPhone and Android at last, which is thanks to a quick post on BlackBerry’s Facebook page and comments from the company directly. BlackBerry confirmed within the last couple of hours that BBM would launch on iPhone and Android this weekend.

The message seen in the picture above landed on their Facebook page within the last 30 minutes, and it simply states “BBM 4 All”. This is just BlackBerry’s way to create hype today and get people looking for the BBM release date on these two platforms.

It should be pointed out that the “BBM4ALL” hashtag is a little misleading, especially considering there has been no news about BBM for Windows phones. If BBM will truly be for all, then we should see it release on Windows as well even if Android and iOS are more popular.

The BlackBerry Messenger app has been leaked previously thanks to beta manuals, and a download link went live on the official page for just a few moments within the last couple of weeks. It is not clear if the download page linked to a file before it was taken down, but some blogs grabbed a screenshot of the page before its removal.

Will you be downloading BBM on iPhone or Android this weekend? We will be sure to update our readers when the download links are up for both mobile operating systems, and also comparing the popularity between iOS and Android downloads. Leave a comment below with the main reason why you would want, or not want, BBM on your smartphone.
