Now that Apple has got one product event out of the way it is time for them to start planning for the next one, which most of us assume will take place next month. However, a rumor is starting to gain traction suggesting the date will be October 15, 2013, so is this the real deal?
If this is the true iPad 5 and mini 2 event date then we expect invites for the Oct 15 event will go out a week before, so the 8th, which is just what happened for the iPhone event. However, we still have no confirmation of this and don’t expect to, but we have to be skeptical over this date, as it would put it a week before last years iPad event.
What can we learn from that event from October 2012 – We know the iPad 4th generation and the iPad mini were unveiled during that very event, and so it is for this reason why there is a good chance the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 will be unveiled on October 15, if that is the true date.
However, last years event also showed off several other products, such as a new iMac, MacBook Pro and a new Mac mini. With this in mind there is a good chance that the 2013 MacBook Pro will be announced, and with it will be the much-anticipated Haswell chip, which will also be present in the iMac refresh.
Knowing a new version of Mac OS X is planned for the fall it is obvious Apple would choose next month’s event to launch Mavericks, as they should come pre-installed in a bevy of new Mac devices.
There is still no word on the all-new Mac Pro for 2013 release date, but there is a good chance Apple will use the same event to reveal its official release date. If all these new products are shown during the rumored October 15 event then this will be one of the best Apple has held for several years.
