Even before the Canon EOS 70D was released we knew it was going to be a formidable camera in its class, and would give the Nikon D7100 a run for its money. However, some of you will be wondering how it compares to the respected 7D, and so the best way to see how they compare is by running the same test on both cameras.
In the Canon EOS 70D vs. 7D review we learn that both models come with the same focusing system, and this is one of the reasons why some of you will wonder why bother buying the older 7D? In theory both these cameras should be pretty good at shooting sports, and this is the reason for the sports test video you see below.
The sport in question is squash, and will certainly put the Canon EOS 70D vs. 7D to the test because it being such a fast sport. We have to admit; the reviewer is brave being in the court right near the wall while a game of squash is being played, although one player is a sexy model and the other is just taking it easy, or just interested in his opponent.
We are told the 70D will embarrass the 7D in terms of focus because the speed is fast and accurate and is always ready for the action. Having said that, when using both you will not notice any huge differences. The 7D is tougher, yet the 70D is lighter, so could make a difference for using for long periods of time.
Some of the shots being taken with both cameras are out of focus, and we have to ask if this is because of the speed in which images are being taken, or just poor camera settings being made by the reviewer?
