iOS 7 Gold Master now live, but not OTA

By Updated on

UPDATE: iOS 7 GM is now live, but not OTA so developers need to login to the member area and download. We will publish the full changes for this final build in the coming hours.

We have just been informed by a reliable source that the iOS 7 Gold Master download links will be live within the next 60 minutes. This is on target with the release time seen last year, which ended up being around 9PM UK or 1PM PST.

This news follows some clarification earlier today about the iOS 7 public release date, which needed explaining a little after some people asked, “when does iOS 7 release?” Many Apple users thought it would go live right after the September 10 event, although this schedule happened a few years ago but changed recently including last year.

Developers will get to download iOS 7 GM in the next hour, if our source is correct, and we expect some of the new features being discussed at today’s event will also be evident within the new software.

While the final build is meant for developers only, you can be sure there will be general public getting hold of iOS 7 GM through download links not from the official developer portal. We warn against this, but if you do it then at your own risk considering the software is not a public release just yet.

You can read more about the September 18th iOS 7 public release date below our earlier article. Check back soon when we update with official confirmation and any changelog for changes since beta 6.

It should also be noted that both iPhone 5S and 5C are live on the Apple Store with prices and release information. We would like to point out pre-orders go live for 5C this Friday, but you cannot pre-order the iPhone 5S and instead would need to order online or at a local store on Sept 20.
