The Apple Store going down today can mean a number of things, but considering Apple’s September 10, 2013 event is about to start it seems likely that the announcement would include iPhone 5S pre-orders to start right away.
We checked the Apple Store in the USA, UK, Canada and Australia and all are down today. The outage started within the last couple of hours and normally signals product updates to the shopping section of the website.
This is still speculation, so for now we have only the official message stating Apple is updating the store and it will be back up online soon. What these updates are will be anyone’s guess, although a new iPhone 5S or 5C would be nice at least to pre-order.
Apple has done a few things different this year and this included putting the banners up last-minute, an expectation of two new iPhone models rather than one, and also the Apple TV hasn’t featured a live stream for video coverage like we normally see during an iPhone event or even WWDC.
What do you think Apple is planning now the store is down? Could today be the not only the launch, but also time to pre-order a new iPhone rather than wait until next week? You can count on iOS 7 Gold Master going live just after the event, and this is almost certain with an iOS 7 public release date landing next week.
