Plants vs. Zombies 2 yells for Android release date

Last week a mixed bunch of people starting yelling louder about Plants vs. Zombies 2 for Android and its release date. We have been keeping an eye on any news unfolding and the fact is the complete silence tells us a lot, and this is an obvious focus on iPhone’s iOS rather than putting a download up on Google play.

Only 2 days ago we touched on the sales success with Plants vs. Zombies 2 for iPhone, and what might have been better with an Android launch as well from the very beginning. This article received a lot of feedback both on Product Reviews and Google Plus, which pointed to increased frustration and confusion to what is happening.

Some of these people feel Plants vs. Zombies 2 for Android would have had a much better launch than the iPhone version, and while 25M downloads is impressive some Android users feel their platform would have “smashed this” thanks to the amount of Android device owners.

Mixed age range desire Plants vs. Zombies 2 for Android – the release date hasn’t even received a hint from those behind the mobile game, so this alone makes a number of people very upset. These users would appreciate at least some confirmation that Plants vs. Zombies 2 will launch on Android at some point in 2013, or even early 2014.

One commenter stated, “I want to play Plants vs. Zombies 2 on Android and look for news on a release date most days. I don’t want to buy an Apple product to get this game, and I am 37 years old with money to spend. It seems like they didn’t consider other places that could make them more money”. Another added, “isn’t it their goal to earn money, they should release Plants vs. Zombies 2 on both Android and Windows Phone as well.

Do you think the silence means Plants vs. Zombies 2 won’t get an Android release date this year? It is not just adults that want to play Plants vs. Zombies 2 for Android “My 6 year old son keeps asking when it is coming out, we really want to play the game”, said one Product Reviews reader. Let us know your thoughts on this game in the comments.

I bet Apple is paying them off. Take the 6 yr old for example, he’s going to develop life-long negative feelings towards android and a longing for iOS.

I understand money, being a business owner, but thevideo gaming industry is THE MOST VILE AND CUTTHROAT MARKET. I simply pirate nowadays, because everytime I try to buy something, it’s exclusive, has “microtransactions” or some other thing that makes me FURIOUS!! COOL, MONEY’S GREAT!? Guess what allows for greater gains? A LOYAL customer base, not people squabbling for compatibility. I wont buy an inferior product because of one game, and will no longer buy exclusive games, even if they bennefit me. We ALL need to become RESPONSIBLE consumers, instead of”ooooohhh it’s new!!”

    PC for GTFO

Pirate, cheating, complaining, free games. All trademarks of android users. It takes more time for popcap/ea to resolve those issues before they can release for android users.

I refuse to buy an apple product..so sad that the creators of such an awesome game sold out to apple. Anyone DUMB enough to purchase an apple product just for this game deserves to waste their money (your device will suddenly start having “problems” when a new one comes out…prompting you to purchase the new one). Patiently awaiting the game’s release on a device I actually WANT to play it on :)

This is so dumb, the game originally came out on PC!!

You know, I can’t believe how selfish Apple is. First, there’s the issue of suing Samsung for $0.5 billion because of its grid menu and rectangular cell phone screen. Like, seriously? They won that case too! Now, Popcap STILL wants to only keep PvZ 2 to iOS. Well, at least there’s a Chinese version for Android that’s out now. Just find it on Baidu (I think?). For those who want to practice their Chinese, here’s a great way to do it!
