If you feel as though your Transformer Pad TF300 is starting to look a little tired and is in need of a replacement, then you will be pleased to know that a minor update to the 2012 model is on its way. Okay, so you will have to consider if you wish to get rid of your tablet that is only a year old, but some of the improvements could be worth it.
We say this because ASUS has already seen a number of Haswell laptop and tablets enter the market, and as such have felt the need to bring out their own Transformer T300 with Haswell. This Windows 8 tablet come notebook comes has a 13.3-inch display, a choice of Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 chips, along with Intel’s HD 5000 series graphics.
That’s not the only jump in terms of specs, as the 2013 Asus Transformer T300 also includes 4GB to 8GB of RAM and a choice of storage options from 64GB, 128GB and 256GB SSD, 1920 x 1080 pixel IPS display, USB 3.0, micro USB 3.0 and microSD card slot.
The use of Haswell is more than just increasing performance, as battery life is improved as well, and so the new T300 now offers 8 hours of battery life and that is when you are using the keyboard and tablet at the same time.
It is clear to see that the Asus Transformer T300 has the upper hand over its rivals, as Pocket-Lint makes a point of those improved specs and that all-important Haswell upgrade. We know the improved chip has done a great job with the MacBook Air, which was one of the first devices to make use of Intel’s newest processor, but we are still waiting for the Pro to get it.
One thing is certain though, this looks to be one of the better Windows tablets come notebooks, but there is a huge question mark over the Asus Transformer T300 price.
