When Apple sent out their invites for the iPhone last year it was easy to work out the name of the new handset because of the image of the number 5. However, we cannot say the same this year because Apple has not given anything away, although we pretty much know what to expect. We know for certain we will learn the identity of the new iPhone, along with its release date and that of iOS 7 on Tuesday.
However, going on what we have seen in past years we are able to offer you the iOS 7 release date prediction timetable above. As always Apple has not confirmed any dates, apart from those invites for Tuesdays event.
From what we can make out going by last year and the likes of Verizon and AT&T putting a block on employees vacations we could expect an iOS 7 release date window of September 17, 18 or 19, which falls on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
We believe the smart money would be on September 18, 2013, which is a Wednesday, as iOS 6 was also released on a Wednesday last year. A new version of iOS usually releases around 8 days after an Apple iPhone event, which is why we are also suggesting the 18th.
This would give Apple a two-day grace before releasing the iPhone 5S on the 20, which is the Friday, just as they did last year.
If Wednesday 18, 2013 is the big day for when iOS 7 is released then we should except several iOS 7 download problems. This will come as no surprise because of the number of devices running iOS 6 wanting to take advantage of this new upgrade.
It is for this very reason why Apple will make iOS 7 available for download a couple of days before the new 2013 iPhone is released. Will you bother downloading iOS 7 even though you will be getting the new iPhone a couple of days later?
