We know that Apple is to hold a keynote next Tuesday, where they are to talk about their next-gen smartphone, which we expect to be the iPhone 5S, along with a cheaper iPhone 5C in multiple colors. However, we do not know much else, although there has been plenty of leaked images to give us a pretty good idea of what to expect.
One of the iPhone 5S features that we expect to see is a fingerprint, which should form part of the new home button. While this is mere speculation, a recent leaked image shows the iPhone 5S fingerprint scanner on the box from a Chinese website.
Having already discussed the many (presumed) colors of the iPhone 5C, there were images of a white circle with a solver ring around it. Because this color is not bold this has since led to assumptions that the iPhone 5S home button could sport the silver ring as part of the fingerprint scanner technology, and the leaked packaging seems to back this theory up.
You will have to forgive the image below and from the Chinese website because they are a little on the blurry side. It would be very easy to dismiss the images, but with all that has leaked over the past several days since the Apple iPhone 5S invitations went out we have seen more evidence to suggest a fingerprint sensor on the home button, such as the image you see at the very top.
There has also been evidence in one of the iOS 7 beta versions, but we guess we will have to wait until Tuesday, which isn’t too long of a wait. However, this does blow the theory that the whole display will feature fingerprint technology, although this could have been an issue for the iPhone 5S price?
