Those of you who thought the Samsung Galaxy S4 is a rather big smartphone will find the Galaxy Mega 6.3 is the biggest smartphone we have seen in a long time and certainly a phablet moving towards tablet screen size. The Mega 6.3 is ideal for watching videos and playing games because of the screen size, and the overall look is similar to the S4, apart from the growth in size.
The Mega 6.3 seems to opt for the opposite direct to the mini craze of smartphones we have been seeing of late, although we expected this larger device to come with 1080p instead of 720p with the introduction of a bigger screen. We have embedded a visual review of this with a 15 minute video above this post, which discusses the pros and cons of this extremely large phone.
With the Galaxy Mega 6.3 less scrolling is required for reading, although the presenter discusses how hard this is to use with one hand, so a FLYGRIP accessory would be ideal for those of you worried about dropping your Mega 6.3.
The camera is regarded as passable, but nothing special to write home about. Additionally, if you regard this as a tablet, it has a decent camera, while the presenter feels from a phone aspect the camera is just alright. Those of you who like the sound of a massive phone the Mega 6.3 is classed as a nice addition to the world of bigger devices, especially for those who feel the average sized phones are too limited.
With this in mind, we thought our readers may be interested in both the Sony Xperia Z Ultra vs. Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3, as these seem to be two of the biggest handsets out there. We put both these products up against each other and cannot hide the fact that as phones these do look rather amusing.
We understand there is a gap in the market for those requiring a bigger phone, especially when devices like these can be ideal for those who have to normally put glasses on to see the display.
In general, other than the size we cannot see any other unique features to make the larger devices more attractive, but it is nice to see consumers are getting plenty of choice made available to them when it comes to acquiring a smartphone to suit individual requirements.
