A lot of you are already excited about the Nexus 5 phone appearing in 2013, but it looks like Google may have just teased the device right underneath our noses. In a week where we have seen Samsung finally announce the Galaxy Note 3 superphone, Google’s direct answer with the 2013 Nexus 5 phone may have already been spotted in public.

A few days ago, the company released one of their trademark videos, celebrating the unveiling of the next major version of Android, which will now be known as Kitkat – not Key Lime Pie as widely believed due to intense hype and speculation.

Android 4.4 Kitkat will probably be the first software to run on the Nexus 5 and it looks like Google has accidentally given fans a tease of what the phone looks like. In the video below, you’ll want to pause it at the 0.38 mark to take a look at a rather mysterious device that a Google employee is holding.

You’ll notice that it features the text Nexus on the back, similar in the style in which we have just seen the logo used for the new Nexus 7 tablet. Another major excitement is that we can see a very large camera sensor on the back, which could be an indication that LG and Google are ready to offer one of their most superior camera phones yet.

The Nexus 5 is likely to run Android 4.4 Kitkat at launch.

We mention LG, as if you pay attention you’ll also spot an LG logo on the back device as well, making it highly likely that the two companies are once again partnering on the next Nexus phone. It’s interesting to note that Google’s original video has now been taken offline away from public viewing, but you can still view it below courtesy of TheVerge.

This has to be the Nexus 5 in the flesh surely? Give us your initial impressions on the device as we await an official confirmation in the coming weeks.
