Update: The Apple event invite can now be seen after being sent out to select press. Take a look at the bright Apple iPhone event invitation here along with some details about the start time.
We wanted to issue this quick update in regard to the Apple iPhone 5S event invitations expected today for September 10, 2013. Some blogs have been reporting in the last couple of hours that these invites have been sent out, although this news is in fact incorrect at the time of writing thanks to one blogger jumping the gun with a pre-wrote article.
The amount of blogs and even mainstream media reporting this story has led to a lot of confusion for Apple fans, so just count this post as a little clarity for those unsure.
It is worth pointing out that we still believe that Apple will send their new iPhone event invitations today, although this is based on the press event being held on September 10. If this is the Apple iPhone event date, then you can expect invitations within the next 24 hours thanks to this being a pattern that is almost always followed by Apple.
The blogger than caused a lot of confusion writes for The Verge, and after publishing their article about the iPhone 5S event invitations they deleted it. Noticing other blogs picking up on the story, they then took to Twitter with a quick message to explain the mistake.
We will update Product Reviews readers when the real invites go live and if in fact the Apple iPhone event takes place on Sept 10, so be ready for a date and time soon.
It was hoped that this blogger had some inside knowledge and published an invite early, but after looking through cache pages you can tell this was definitely a pre-wrote article waiting for the invitation to land in their inbox today.
What do you think the new iPhone event invitation will reveal? It is well known that Apple like to leave clues within the invites sent to press, and this year will be no different.
The iPhone 5 event invite featured a number 12 date along with a big 5 shadow, which obviously pointed to the name of the new smartphone.
