It is like clockwork with Apple every year and the iPhone 5S release date is no different thanks to both AT&T and Verizon confirming the window for Apple’s next phone to reach retail locations. The lead-up brings a massive number of leaks showing design clues, but it is the vacation blocking that signals the iPhone 5S delivery date to stores.
The iPhone 5S launch date is expected to be Sept 10 and as we mentioned early today, this should include the iOS 7 Gold Master being available to download for developers after the event. The public download will come later on in the month.

Verizon Wireless has blocked employees from booking a vacation between September 18th and September 22nd. This of course only applies to the retail employees and almost certainly confirms the release window every year for a new iPhone, so the 2013 model will most likely arrive somewhere in that gap.
Our bet for an iPhone 5S and 5C release date would be September 20th, and this is thanks to it being a Friday and historically that is when Apple would prefer to release their biggest product.
We have already heard that AT&T issued a vacation blockage from September 20th to 22nd, so when taking both windows into account it is pretty obvious that the Friday will mark the iPhone 5S/5C release date.
It should be noted that this is not official confirmation of a 2013 iPhone release, or even that the vacation restrictions are for Apple’s new iPhone but it is as confirmed as it gets for Apple other than a date at the keynote.
Apple 2013 iPhone event invitations – again, we cannot confirm anything officially but rumors suggest September 10 as the event date. If this is the case, then you will see Apple send out new iPhone event invites around one week before the launch. With this in mind, you should expect those invites to land in the next 3-4 days.
We have already seen enough leaks to reveal very solid expectations for the new iPhone 5S and 5C design. Most of our readers have even seen unboxing videos of parts and even a hands-on with the device, although none of these leaks can be conformed as a true next-gen iPhone until the keynote next month.
The iPhone 5C is expected to be finished in plastic with a cheaper price point, although the letter should stand for Color thanks to the amount of bright colors on offer not currently being listed with iPhone 5.
It also looks possible that the iPhone 5 will be replaced by an iPhone 5C at a lower price point. Time will tell if Android users jump on board the Apple train thanks to a cheaper iPhone, although we might see if this is the case by the end of 2013.
Will you go with the new iPhone 5S or do you like the idea of a plastic iPhone 5C? In terms of specs you should also expect the iPhone 5S to include a higher specification when compared the cheaper 5C model.
You can take a look at a graphite version of iPhone 5S in a previous article that includes an unboxing of parts from China. This video should be taken with a pinch of salt as it cannot be confirmed, but it is certainly interesting and looks like the real deal.
Most iPhone owners feel Apple’s products are designed the best and prefer the smartphone design above many others, although a bigger screen would have been welcomed in 2013. If the leaks are anything to go by, then sadly it seems that most people will be disappointed with not seeing at least a jump to 4.5-inches.
If you live in the UK then you might have seen a popular website named Mobile Fun launch some iPhone 5C cases for pre-order. These accessories are based on leaks and will be a risk that more brands will take in the coming days.
