With Sony already confirming a solid release date of November 15 for the PS4, all eyes are naturally on Microsoft to see how they will counter with the release of the Xbox One – a system that has still yet to be given an official date by Microsoft.
With this in mind, you may be aware of rumors suggesting that Microsoft will decide to launch their Xbox One, in close proximity with the PS4. We know that the console will be available sometime in November, but earlier this week we heard whispers that it could actually be on November 8 – thanks to some apparent information sourced from retailer Walmart.
The latest word is that November 8 may not be accurate though, with an alleged source close to Microsoft telling Kotaku that the Xbox One will in fact launch just after the November 8 date. With November 15 locked down for the PS4, could Microsoft even be plotting to release the Xbox One during the same week – what a event that would be if it turns out to be the case.
As the days keep ticking, the possibility of a simultaneous Xbox One and PS4 launch grows on in our opinion. A lot of people are saying that the ball is in Microsoft’s court since we already know the PS4 date, but we still see no sign of the company coming forward with a confirmed date – what are they waiting for we wonder?
So far, pre-orders seem to be going through the roof for both consoles, so it’s clear that there is unprecedented demand for both systems straight away, regardless of the fact that the Xbox One is $100 more expensive than the PS4.
If November 8 isn’t the Xbox One launch date, what about the possibility of the following Monday on November 11, giving Microsoft a few days head start before the PS4 launches on Friday November 15? Let us know your predictions for when Microsoft will launch the Xbox One.
Do you agree that Microsoft is in a good position to put pressure on Sony now?
