If you have already ordered an Xbox One console ready for launch in November, we have a very nice infographic for you to take a look at – exploring a deeper insight into the brand new controller that you’ll be picking up alongside your shiny new console.
Design wise, it obviously looks a lot like the Xbox 360 controller on first glance. However, Microsoft themselves have provided a graphic to attempt to give you thorough reasons why the Xbox One controller is very different.
For example, you’ll be able to get a good look at the brand new thumbsticks, which Microsoft say adds an easy grip texture, lighter tension and perhaps crucial for shooter fans – a smaller dead zone. Another notable area of improvement rests in the battery compartment, as Microsoft has now unified the battery pack inside the main body of the controller, giving you the player more surface space to find a nicer grip.
You can view the whole thing and zoom in at your pleasure by clicking this link, thanks to Kotaku. Alternatively, if you are looking for some controller analysis in video form, you can watch a great video from Microsoft’s design team which takes a look at ergonomics and other aspects of the controller.
The age old argument will also be there on which controller is better between the Xbox One pad and the DualShock4, but it will always just come down to personal preference in our opinion. The Xbox One is also the subject of a nice teardown in the same video, so it would be helpful if Sony were to provide a similar analysis with the DualShock4 in the coming weeks.
Are you a fan of the Xbox One controller or is it simply too big for your hands? Check out the graphic and video, then let us know what you think below.
