A couple of days ago there was a new YouTube update for 2013 and in version 2.0 it comes with a couple new additions. These are the ability to watch a video while searching for the next video, which is pretty much like picture-in-picture. The other new feature lets you search for playlists and then you can select them all so you will not have to keep hitting that play button after the video has ended.
The YouTube app update download size is 15.5MB and supports most versions of the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, more details of which can be found on iTunes.
We thought you might like to see the YouTube iOS v 2.0 app running on the iPhone 5 with iOS 7 beta 6, as it gives you a good idea of what to expect come next month, which is when the public release of iOS 7 will go live.
It does look strange at first and some of you might hate it, but when you give it some time it is actually better than before. However, there are a few concerns, as some people are complaining that the back button has gone.
Simple answer to loss of back button – When you are viewing a video the back button has gone, but when you swipe down to make the video smaller all you then need to do is swipe the smaller video either side and it will go, leaving you with your original search results once again.
There are also complaints about the app crashing, but I’ve not had this issue, although they could be running on iOS 7 beta 6, in which case there could be a few teething issues.
How have you been getting on with the latest YouTube iOS app update?
