We already went over the BMW i3 price back in July, but now we thought we would give you a little reminder since the BMW i8 price has now revealed. However, we do fear that the German car manufacturer has not been aggressive enough with their pricing and could come back to bite them.
The reason for these BMW i3 and i8 UK price concerns is because the price for the i3 starts at £25,680 and i8 around £100,000. Okay, so we know the design of these vehicles are far better than most other EVs on the market, but when you consider you can get a clean diesel BMW saloon for less, it does make you think?
We now have a better idea of the BMW i3 release date, which will be in November, with the BMW i8 release set for late 2013. The former will have a range of 80 to 100 miles and the latter 300 miles plus, which puts it in direct competition with Tesla.
Like their standard engine versions these BMW’s are overpriced and so could hurt i3 an i8 sales. The thing is, the likes of Ford has improved their designs over the years, and so the gap is now ever closer between the likes of the Series 3 and the Mondeo.
