The Nexus 4 was a success in terms of popularity, but not so when it comes to how Google and LG handled stock controls. Consumers often had a long wait before they could get their hands on the handset, and with both companies blaming each other we had a feeling they would part company and not work together on the Nexus 5.
Over the course of several months the Google and LG partnership with the Nexus 5 has been on and off, and most recently rumors suggesting even Sony could be the dark horse to manufacture the Nexus 5, although Motorola would have been the more obvious choice.
However, this latest rumor from Trusted Reviews now suggest the LG Nexus 5 is back on the cards, which sort of makes sense considering the Nexus 5 could be heavily based on the LG G2. If this is to be the case, then we could be in for a good end to the year in terms of smartphone rivalry.
The LG G2 is an impressive handset, and if it was to become the Nexus 5 then it will be even better thanks to a closer relationship with Google. So we should expect the handset to be faster thanks to a slicker OS.
Having said that, if this latest image from Techtastic is anything to go by, then the Nexus 5 will have a few differences to the LG G2.
Would you like the Nexus 5 to be based on the LG G2, or would you like to see something completely different?
