With the news that Verizon’s sign-up page for the LG G2 went live, there looks as though this could be a good sign for those who were disappointed the carrier did not make the Nexus 4 available to their customers when it was released towards the end of last year.
You may wonder what this has to do with our title, which expects a Verizon Nexus 5 release with Wireless Charging? Having already explained that the LG G2 to transform itself in the Nexus 5 later this year, we assume it would be self-explanatory.
If this is the case then this could be a huge deal for Verizon and the Nexus 5, because releasing it on the biggest carrier in the US would bode very well for both parties. However, we should not get too ahead of ourselves here because the Nexus 5 has yet to be made official, and we still do not know who will be making the thing.
There have been several reports of LG being involved, although this has been rumored to be on and off over the last several months. However, there is growing speculation that it could be a Sony Nexus 5 or a Motorola Nexus 5.
Choosing between the two will be tough because while Motorola would be the obvious choice, they seem committed to several handsets already, such as the trio of DRIOD smartphones and the Moto X. Sony would be a great option because we have seen with their new Xperia range of devices they have what it takes to design something consumers like.
Do you believe there will be a Verizon Nexus 5, and will it be LG, Motorola or Sony working closely with Google on the project?
