As the choice of smartphones gets more extensive it is not always an easy choice to pick up the ideal handset that suits your needs, although the amount of phones on the market means the competition is getting hot and consumers are now starting to feel the benefits.

Today we thought we’d show you the Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra and the video above highlights this model in a visual review. The video by PhoneArena lasts around 12 and a half minutes and takes us through the ins and outs of this product with only 5 dislikes accumulated compared to 70 likes.

This is the slimmest version of Alcatel’s One Touch series at only 6.45mm thick, and this new member of the Alcatel family still has a respectable 4.7″ HD Super AMOLED display, as well as an 8 MP camera.

The specs on the other hand are regarded as a bit underwhelming with a MediaTek processor and 1 GB of RAM, additionally there here is no microSD slot. Without putting this device down too much the design is attractive and for the right price this should compete well with other mid-range devices.

While some people are quite impressed by the overall look, the user interface is not so well-received. As a mid-range smartphone this looks like a decent addition, although the lack of headphone jack is a mystery in this day and age.

Do you like the slim design? Maybe the MIA headphone jack has put you off.
