The 2014 Corvette Stingray release is due this fall, but there are fears a recent crash could delay the new Chevy Corvette Stingray release as safety engineers are now conducting a full investigation into the crash. This could turn out to be a serious issue for GM, as this is the worst crash to happen to their new model.

On a positive note, there were no injuries, and the Corvette did seem to come out better out of the two vehicles involved in the accident. The all-new Chevy Corvette Stingray was being driven on a test ride by a GM employee, and because of this the vehicle cannot go to a local dealer to be checked over, as no dealer has taken possession of one of these vehicles yet.

Edmunds says the team of engineers will study the damage on the vehicle to see if it can be repaired, and also see what other damage was caused along with any issues with performance. Okay, so this is a bit of a setback and could cause a minor delay if any issues are found to arise following this crash.

Having said that, it is better to find this out now, and what better way to test the safety of the 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray than with a real crash and not a controlled one?

GM already said that the data collected after the cash will be very valuable, and they are correct because you just cannot recreate a crash such as this.

If there was any doubt about the new Corvette Stingray, then seeing it stand up and come out better than the Lincoln will surely make you think again?
