Electric Land Rover Defender test results

Back in March the Electric Land Rover Defender had undergone some early testing, and the reviews said the vehicle showed some potential, and some recent test results back this up. However, there has been a mixed reaction, as some of the faithful fans of the original Defender model think otherwise.

The latest Electric Land Rover Defender test results were seen as a positive step, as the vehicle managed to pull a four-carriage road train at the Eden Project in Cornwall, England. This weighed in at 12-tons and had no issue pulling it up a 6 percent incline.

If the EV was uesd at the Eden Project, it would be able to pull those carriages for about 8 hours before needing a charge, which is ideal for a normal days use.

In normal conditions the Land Rover EV range is 50 miles, along with 12 miles in reserve on a single battery. However, Land Rover recently added a second lithium-ion battery, which would obviously increase its range.

Overall stability should be improved with the addition of the second battery, as it would help improve weight distribution. As for those negatives reviews we mentioned above, it is clear some people are not in favor of making the Defender an EV, or any electric vehicle for that matter.

We say this because we have heard over the months that using an EV to pull carriages is not going to be its strong point, although if you could tow a camper or boat over a great distance then what would be the point?

It seems as though some people don’t get it, I’d hate to have my kids having to sit behind a truck bellowing out all that nasty fumes.
