Sony PS4 features revisited before launch

By Updated on

Need yet another look at the gorgeous PS4 hardware? If the answer is yes, Sony again has you covered. A new official video has been released days ago, giving a close-up look at some of the physical buttons on the PS4 system, just in case you didn’t get to see them over the E3 period.

Sony really know how to tease their console and actually, this may be the finest look at the PS4 in close detail on video that we have seen since E3. The video comes courtesy of Sony and their social PlayStation Access channel, with host Hollie Bennett offering up a mini-tour of the front and back of the system that many of you will be buying day one this Holiday season.

More importantly, the video also gives you a quick glance at the power and eject buttons on the PS4 which you may not have seen before. It also gives you a heads-up on where PS4 discs will be inserted into the system, and another confirmation (albeit a disappointing one) that the PS4 will only ship with two USB ports.

It would have been nice to have an extra couple of USB ports on the back of the console, but you’ll see further in the video that there are no place for these. There isn’t even a place for AV slots, as you’ll be hooking up the system to HDMI out of the box – luckily a cable is provided this time.

We also get another lovely look at the PS4 DualShock4 controller, but this time zoomed up to perfection to show the various texture materials that have been used. We’re not sure about you, but we loved this little preview of the console – it would be nice if Microsoft were to offer a similar tease of the Xbox One.
