Xbox One release date hints from controller orders

By Updated on

It goes without saying that the standard PS4 and Xbox One console bundles at launch will only be coming with a single controller for the respective $399 and $499 asking prices. This is obviously not ideal for those that require an extra controller straight away, which is why you’ll be pleased to see both Sony and Microsoft now opening up pre-orders for those that are looking to secure a separate controller.

The bad news is that both the DualShock4 and the Xbox One controller are going to be a $60 purchase, which is a lot of money either way you look at it. However, one interesting thing to note is that we’ve seen pre-orders for the Xbox One controller on Amazon, offer up a specific date of release.

If you head to Amazon’s listing, you’ll see the release date for the controller as November 27. This is different to Amazon’s pre-order page for the PS4 DualShock4, as there appears to be a placeholder date of December 31 instead. As far as we’re aware, Microsoft has not confirmed the official launch date for the Xbox One, so is there a possibility that Amazon has once again slipped up and November 27 is the big date to look out for?

We knew that the system would be available during Holiday season and November 27 is right in the midst of the Thanksgiving period, which would seem like a logical launch period. Again, this is not confirmed yet but it does look pretty promising from our point of view.

Let us know your thoughts on this and whether you are definitely considering picking up an extra controller for PS4 or Xbox One.

        nice article…
to be honest i think it will be before november 27, that date is too close to black friday
but i also think the PS4 will release before the xbox one

That’s a bad day to release. Way too close to black friday. Theyre going to want to get it out at least a week or 2 before that. Also that is the placeholder they had up for the console before too. So most likely they are both placeholders as Amazon previously stated last time.
