Xbox One preview with Ryse Son of Rome

Some may be complaining that Microsoft hasn’t shown enough of their Xbox One console, but now we have an excellent video for you to watch, which takes a look at the upcoming Xbox One exclusive, Ryse: Son of Rome. This game has been made by Crysis makers Crytek, which is why you’ll be unsurprised to see the game looking so good in the graphics department – perhaps arguably the best looking game that was shown at E3 2013 as well.

Ryse has already been confirmed to be launching alongside the Xbox One console this Fall, meaning that it could be the first game that a lot of you choose to play when booting up your lovely new Xbox One for the first time. That puts added pressure on Crytek to make Ryse one of the best launch titles available in our opinion, but from what we have seen so far it looks like Crytek are more than capable of delivering.

The developer has released a ‘behind the scenes’ look at Ryse in action, showing some of the intense motion capture work that has been done in order to give the game a high level of authenticity – the motion capture system used for example, is the same tech that Andy Serkis used for the likes of Planet of the Apes and Lord of the Rings.

It really is fascinating stuff when you watch the clip above, to think that all of this hard work is for a video game – which it could actually be mistaken for a movie production. Crytek are known for being top of the class when it comes to pure graphical prowess and you get another example of this in the behind the scenes clip – the facial features on some of the characters are truly stunning.

Have you changed your mind about Ryse? How many of you are now planning to pick this up with your Xbox One console?

I am embarrassingly excited about this game, but I feel like I am the only one who is even interested in it. I am happy to accept that it might be less free roaming than other games and that it will focus on immersive storytelling, but it looks like a film that I would pay to watch, much less be in.
