Having already reported earlier that Google was to unveil the all-new Nexus 7 today, we can now tell you they have done just that. Much of what we thought was confirmed just a few hours ago was true, and it’s clear to see this refreshed model offers a spec bump and all for a reasonable price.
The Nexus 7 2nd-generation model now offers a Full HD display at 1,920 x 1,200 and comes complete with Android 4.3, which should help give it yet another speed bump. That’s right, another, as the new Snapdragon S4 Pro chip is an improvement over lasts years model, which used the Tegra 3 SoC.
For those who are interested in the new model, then the ASUS Nexus 7 2nd-generation release date will be from July 30, and at $229 is a perfect price point, as it’s $100 cheaper than the current-gen iPad mini. We’re sure it will not be long for the first all-new Nexus 7 reviews to start appearing, and we wonder what those reviewers will make of ASUS and Google’s latest offering?
We’re sure that some of you will be wondering if you should pre-order a Nexus 7 from Best Buy now, or just take the chance on release day and go to your local Best Buy store. Personally, we feel you should pre-order, just in case they cannot keep up with demand.
