Motorola’s been rather busy of late, not with the impending release of the Moto X Phone, but rather three other handsets, the Motorola Droid Mini, Droid Ultra and Droid Maxx, which are destined for Verizon. The first handset of the bunch comes with a 4.3-inch display, while the other two sports a 5-inch screen.
Motorola is taking a leaf out of Samsung and HTC’s book, as they know it’s not all about large handsets, as there is a clear market for smaller models as well, although the Droid Mini is still larger than the iPhone, and we don’t expect that to change this year.
The thing is, not all of us want a larger smartphone, as they are not as easy to handle with one hand, something that many of us prefer to do. I’m an iPhone 5 user and I yearn for something a little larger, but not sure 4.3-inch is enough to satisfy my needs, but I’m just one person with a very different opinion.
Engadget has a very insightful Motorola Droid Mini hands-on review, although not as extensive as we would have hoped. Having said that, we’re sure one will follow shortly. You can see a video of this hands-on below.
The Motorola Droid Ultra and Droid Maxx are a refresh of the RAZR HD and RAZR Maxx HD and are more advanced than the many in many ways, and as you would imagine come with a host of new features when compared to their predecessors.
2012 was a great year for the RAZR HD and RAZR Maxx HD, so we have to wonder if this year will be as kind for the upgraded versions? Both these new models come with Kevlar bodies, much like we expect from the Galaxy S5, and so looks sleek while having a sturdy feel to it.
You can view the full Motorola Droid, Ultra and Maxx hands-on in the video below. Once you have viewed both videos we’d love to know your thoughts on these three new handsets.
