So the big battle of the open world games this year is going to come down to GTA V Vs Watch Dogs. If you have already decided on picking up Ubisoft’s game though, you may be interested in going one step further and pre-ordering the best edition of the game that will be available at launch.
Unsurprisingly though, this will come at a considerable cost to your bank balance. It has now been confirmed that the most expensive edition of Watch Dogs will set you back a cool $130 in the US, but does offer a few rare items that you are unlikely to find elsewhere – unless you live in China of course.
For $130, you’ll get a copy of the game enclosed in a neat steel book, the official Watch Dogs soundtrack, an 80 page art book (there’s always art isn’t there?), a carbon copy of Aiden Pearce’s vigilante mask and the most desirable item of all – a 9-inch figurine of the elusive man himself.
Are all these little extras enough to justify paying double the price of the standard game though? That is obviously the question that you will have to think long and hard about as $130 is a lot of money for most casual gamers. It would be nice if we saw that Aiden Pearce statue available as a separate purchase, but sadly it seems like it has become a trend for developers to just throw in a figurine, a couple of extras and charge over $100 for it.
Take a close look at the contents in the image above and let us know if you are considering dropping $130 on this. Do you actually think it is reasonable, or bordering on the insane?
