Galaxy S3 and Note 2 in Android 4.2.2 update procrastination

By Updated on

We’ve known for a while now that Samsung has been looking into releasing Android 4.2.2 for some of their big devices, with the Galaxy S3 and the Note 2 being just two of them. However, if you thought it was going to just be a simple update for owners of these handsets then you’d be wrong.

The reason we say this is because it’s also known that Samsung could be working on Android 4.3 update as well. If this were the case then it would surely cause a dilemma, because this would cause Android 4.2.2 update procrastination, as some S3 and Note 2 owners may decide to hold off that particular update in favor of the newer 4.3 version instead?

Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2 Android 4.2.2 upgrade delay – Samsung should forget about 4.2.2 for these two handsets for one reason and one reason only, and that is because the OS update was meant to be pushed out this month, but now we’re hearing that it will not happen until July, so by that time Samsung may as well just skip it and go ahead with Android 4.3 instead.

Okay, so we know that the S3 and Note 2 (see the Note 2 running Android 4.2.2 here) are both working fine without either of these updates, and so it’s no big deal just waiting on the newer mobile operating system versions, but we all know that if something better is on the horizon, we want it, and this is just what users feel with Android 4.2.2 and more so version 4.3.

Having said that, because some people are still tied to the same phone, and will be for the near future, it’s obvious they want some new features to help. We know that you could root it and then run custom roms, as this would stop you from getting bored and is a great way to get rid of the dreaded bloatware, but some people just don’t want the hassle to do such a thing, and so will keep waiting, while other handsets around them get the latest version of Android.

Do you think Samsung should just skip Android 4.2.2 for the Galaxy S3 and the Note 2, and just stick with version 4.3 instead?

I think Samsung should stop mocking about and do their job…
Apple release upgrades in a professional way, and does not procrastinate like these guys in South Korea do…
retrospectively, I look at Samsung S3 as a bad investment for me…
a device with one year shelf life is a joke… especially when it is that costly…
