Attention all RPG fans now, as a big game could be set to release on both PS4 and PS Vita in 2014. It goes without saying that the PS Vita is in bad need of some quality RPG games to play and this desire could be met with Liege. We say could, as the game is currently the latest Kickstarter project that is doing the rounds, so it’s time for you to show your support and make the game happen.
Kickstarter projects are really becoming a trend setter in 2013 for new smaller-based video game companies and Codagames may just have the game you are looking for with Liege, especially if you enjoy playing RPG games. Recently, the makers of Liege just received the excellent news from Sony, giving them the approval for Liege to release on PS3 and PS Vita – providing the conditions are met.
These conditions are detailed on the Kickstarter page, as Codagames require a target of $52,000 in order to change their game engine to support PS3 and PS Vita – originally Liege was just intended as a PC, Mac and mobile game. Fortunately, the current goal is already at just under $35,000, meaning that the goal has a very high chance of success with still 11 days to go.
The trailer below gives you an initial idea at the concept behind Liege, while the team have already revealed that games such as Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy VII and Suikoden played a big part in terms of influences. We think it’s great that Sony has given their word on another potential indie game appearing on PS Vita, but the disappointing thing about it is that we would have to wait until 2014 to actually see the game release.
What are your initial thoughts on Liege, would you buy this if it became available or even better – are you tempted to donate towards the project on Kickstarter?
