We knew from the moment the HTC One was announced that this was a very special phone, and sales and HTC One reviews have been for the most part positive. This is certainly a very popular smartphone, but there’s nothing like a good choice, and so it wasn’t a surprise when the HTC Butterfly S was released to certain markets in Asia.
HTC Butterfly S vs. HTC One in visual review – The hardware on these two smartphones are very similar really, but they do look rather different, not only in size, but overall looks. Above we have a HTC Butterfly S and HTC One shootout, just to see what the differences are with each handset.
The processor used in the HTC One is the 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core, while the Butterfly S makes use of the same CPU, but has a faster clock speed at 1.9GHz. The screen on the former is 4.7-inch Super LCD3 with Corning Gorilla Glass 2, compared to version 3 for the latter.
Both makes use of 4-megapixel UltraPixel camera to the rear and 2.1-megapixel at the front. The HTC One battery life has always been an issue with its 2300 mAh battery, and so it came as no surprise that the HTC Butterfly S battery is larger with a 3200 mAh capacity.
If you had made up your mind to get the HTC One, and are now confused, then there are a few key things you need to remember. The first is that while the HTC Butterfly S looks to be the better handset because of those minor hardware differences, it’s worth remembering that the HTC One has improved storage, up to 64GB instead of 32GB for the former, along with the awesome metal finish, which gives it a more premium look and feel.
So you have looked at numerous HTC One review videos and still cannot make your mind up about its sibling, then might we suggest you take a look at the HTC Butterfly S hands-on and walkthrough below.
