You got to love how some analysts get negative with Nexus 7 2 sales predictions even before the official specs or release date is known. This is just what we have seen from a well-known hit-and-miss blog, as they fear that rival tablets will make it hard for Google and ASUS to achieve the sort of sales numbers they expect.
As you would imagine, expectations for the Nexus 7 second-gen is pretty high, and so certain vendors believe that Google and ASUS could shift around 8 million units of their next-gen Nexus 7, and we have no reason to doubt this, even if some analysts do.

The Nexus 7 2 specs will be improved over its predecessor, but not majorly like some of you would hope. However, the main improvements are expected to be to the processor, so a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU, but it will be the addition of the rumored 5-megapixel rear-facing and 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera that will be the biggest addition.
However, it’s not just those hardware improvements that will help sales, as we expect to see an aggressive Nexus 7 2-generation price as well, as it needs to be able to stay competitive, just as the current model has. The worry for those skeptical analysts in regards to the Nexus 7 2 pre-launch sales prediction is because while the price of the new model is expected to cost around $199, there are several rival tablets selling for less than $170, but then they will not run a naked version of Android, and the fact that Google’s marketing will make it more of a success – well that’s the theory anyway.
One thing that could hurt sales though is the fear of a poor Nexus 7 second-gen battery life, which we recently discussed, as it’s been suggested that the battery is of a smaller capacity. If this is the case would this put you off purchasing the newer model?
