Mad Max gameplay release time finally

By Updated on

If you watched E3 2013, you may have witnessed the moment when we saw a mystery game shown on stage, with no prior clue as to what it could be. Excitement got the better of us as we actually thought it was Fallout 4, but in fact this game turned out to be something very interesting – a Mad Max game based off the famous movie franchise.

Unfortunately, the teaser that we did see at E3 did not show us a lot, which is why we’re delighted to remind you that today is officially Mad Max gameplay release time. Developers Avalanche Studios revealed recently via Twitter that gameplay would be going live on Monday July 15 and now we’re counting down the hours for that moment to happen.

For those that don’t know, gameplay will apparently be focused on vehicle combat as highlighted in some of the old movies. The game has already been given a release date in April 2014, while we can also confirm that Mad Max will be due out on both current-gen consoles, but also the PS4 and Xbox One too. A PC version on Windows will also follow.

What can we expect to see from the very first gameplay though? Avalanche Studios are a team based in Sweden and they are generally known as the developer who brought us the Just Cause series of games. Those who have played it will know that it is an open-world type of action-adventure game, so could we expect the same formula to be used with Mad Max?

One thing that does already look clear – the game is going to be very impressive in the graphics department. We saw some amazing visuals at E3, so hopefully the game will still look top-notch when actual gameplay is revealed for the first time. When can we expect the gameplay to go live though exactly?

Considering Avalanche Studios is a EU developer, we wouldn’t be surprised if we see the gameplay released at a time convenient to UK and the rest of Europe, rather than US. If you are interested to see more from Mad Max, let us know your initial expectations for the game after watching some of the Mel Gibson movies.
