There’s been a lot of talk about fingerprint technology, with many people hoping to see this tech implemented on the next iPhone, and this has already started off wild claims that other handsets could make use of the security feature first, such as the Micromax Canvas 4, although we already know that its specs have underwhelmed, and has led to some people claiming their money back from pre-orders.
The iPhone 5S is expected to be released some time in September, and could very well come with a fingerprint scanner, but there’s also the possibility that LG could beat Apple to the market with their Optimus G2, which is said to incorporate fingerprint tech.
If what is being reported is true, then LG could hold a special event in August, and so would mean the iPhone 5S with fingerprint tech would not be the first major smartphone to make use of the technology – assuming Apple will use the improved security feature of course in their next iPhone.
We’ve already seen photos of the LG Optimus G2 appear online showing off a fingerprint scanner, and while it’s not certain that this is the real deal, it could be some clever marketing by the South Korean company just to build up hype?
Apple’s iPhone 5S is not expected to look different to the current model, but that does not mean they will not make use of some of the latest tech, but will it be able to compete with the likes of the Galaxy S4, HTC One, or even the upcoming LG Optimus G2, which is almost certain to feature fingerprint tech, which LG is expected to market as the WOW factor with their next smartphone?
Let’s hope that if these two handsets do come with a fingerprint scanner, they are able to incorporate the technology and bring with it several apps that are able to make use of this new feature and not just a new way to unlock your phone.
If the iPhone 5S and the LG Optimus G2 offers fingerprint tech, which will make better use of the feature and in what way.
