It is a very good week for those with a BlackBerry Z10 on AT&T, as some of you may have already received notifications to update to a major new software version, bringing your lovely BlackBerry Z10 to version 10.1. BlackBerry had promised that they would be providing frequent support to those that purchased their revamped devices at launch and now we’re pleased to see the company delivering on this.
As of July 9th earlier this week, the 10.1 software update on the AT&T BlackBerry Z10 is now live. That means most of you should have had notifications already as mentioned above, but if not simply go to your device settings and attempt to push the update manually via the check for updates section.
Upon installation, you should see notable new functionality on your device, such as a brand new HDR mode when using the camera app. There’s now also Skype support and the useful ability to delete words on the keyboard using a single swipe to the left. There’s also some updates to the BlackBerry Hub to support more attachments, so overall it is a very nice update that everyone should appreciate.
For further details on what is included in the update and information on how to install if you are having difficulty, you’ll find this support page over at AT&T’s website very useful indeed. It seems to us as if BlackBerry’s relaunch of BB10-based smartphones has been a big hit so far – both with the Z10 and the QWERTY-based Q10.
Do you have the update already? Most of you should, so let us know how your device is handling after installation.
