If you are a fan of LG smartphones, it looks like the Korean manufacturer is going to be making a lot of consumers happy very soon. Details are starting to emerge on the LG G2, thought to be the company’s next super phone in the making that could put a dent in Apple and Samsung’s plans for smartphone domination towards the end of 2013.
It is obviously early days yet and we are probably still months away from an official announcement. Having said that, it hasn’t stopped leaks from pouring out and we have a few juicy images to share with you now, which appear to offer a genuine glimpse of the G2 in the flesh.
We knew LG were not afraid to go bold and try something new by way of smartphone aesthetics, but it looks like they are once again planning to break boundaries in the smartphone space by offering a device which will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest processor, the beastly Snapdragon 800.

If you thought Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro offered blazing speeds for a smartphone, you will be amazed at what the Snapdragon 800 will do – potentially being able to offer a quad-core chip with speeds of 2.3Ghz per core. That is pretty staggering when you think about it for a mobile device and probably a lot faster than the average PC you have at home.
It’s not just the processor though that will be a big talking point – just take a look at the back of the device in these series of leaked shots, thanks to EVLeaks. It looks like LG are planning to shift the physical volume rocker buttons from the side of the device, to the back cover directly underneath the rear camera sensor.
It looks somewhat peculiar at first glance, but it could prove to be a very comfortable addition for consumers when taking calls with the natural hand gestures. It’s certainly one way to make your competitors take notice, but what do you think – brave or stupid?
