Assassin’s Creed 4 PC delayed, still could be best version

By Updated on

We have an important piece of information for those who are planning to pick up the PC version of Assassin’s Creed 4. Ubisoft has confirmed that the Windows version won’t be available at the same time as console launches, instead revealing that PC owners will have to wait a little longer to play the game.

PC owners may be experiencing feelings of de ja vu reading this, as they will know too well that Ubisoft has used the same stunts in the past. Hopefully though, Assassin’s Creed 4 won’t take too long to arrive on PC, compared to PC releases of previous games in the franchise.

As most of you are already aware, Assassin’s Creed 4 has been confirmed for a release on October 29 and this will relate to the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U versions of the game. Xbox One and PS4 versions will be available before the end of the year, but it now looks like the PC version could be the last platform to get the game.

For those fearing that Ubisoft isn’t giving the PC version enough attention though, rest assured. Game director Ashraf Ismail has revealed this week that the PC version is one of the ‘main platforms’ that is worked on in the office. Furthermore, he informed fans that the PC version is looking ‘phenomenal’, suggesting that it could end up looking the best platform compared to the rest.

It’s a known fact that every Assassin’s Creed game turns up on PC eventually, so this is a case of just being patient we feel. PC owners will also be satisfied in the fact that their version may be able to be supported further, with the use of mod tools to bump up those graphics even more.

We just pray that Ubisoft can get the game out in 2013 on PC, otherwise 2014 may be a case of too little, too late. Are you holding out for the PC version of Assassin’s Creed 4? If so, give us your thoughts on the expected delay.
