Bethesda has some rather good games on the horizon such as The Evil Within, Wolfenstein The New Order and The Elder Scrolls Online. While many will be very content playing these games, others are more interested in getting an update on Fallout 4, the immensely popular follow-up game after Fallout 3.
We didn’t see the game at E3 2013 unfortunately as discussed in a previous article, but we are now starting to sense that an announcement will be due this year, ready for a release sometime in 2014. Bethesda shocked the world when they suddenly halted development on Skyrim, in order to work on their next project.
A lot of fans believe this project to be Fallout 4, and PR man Pete Hines has spoken to OXM in a recent interview, perhaps providing further teases that whilst Fallout 4 is almost certainly being developed, we are still no closer to an official announcement soon.
When speaking to the magazine, Hines has said that he has already seen the new project and that he has revealed that it is ‘awesome’. Having said that though, he also warned fans that the project has only just begun after Skyrim and that the team will need ‘time and space’ before an announcement is made – a standard procedure in games development, says Hines.
The message seems clear to us from Hines: Fallout 4 is coming, but it is going to be a long while yet until we see an announcement for it, let alone the first gameplay trailer. We previously suggested that the first evidence could come at the 2013 VGAs, but is that also too soon to expect to see something on the game?
If you consider yourself to be a Fallout 4 fanatic, let us know what you would like to see. Is there perhaps a danger that the game is going to be overhyped? Then again, if it’s anything like Skyrim, it could easily be another game of 2014 contender.
