McLaren P1 assessment and marketing campaign

The release date for the McLaren P1 is drawing ever closer, which cannot come soon enough for those who have pre-ordered their $1.15 million hypercar. McLaren has recently been putting these vehicles though their final assessment to make certain that they are finally ready to hit the streets.

Just recently, McLaren had two vehicles being put through a series of tests, seen here, and we have reason to believe they want these cars to perform their best because they will be taking part in the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Let’s face it, if the P1 had any sort of issue at the event this would be a huge embarrassment.

No doubt all will go well, although it needs to because this is a serious part of the McLaren P1 marketing campaign, although we cannot be certain if there are any more units left, as there are only 375 being made. That’s not the only piece of clever marketing, as McLaren has also got together with Microsoft.

The reason for this is because the P1 will be one of the vehicles in Forza Motorsports 5. That’s not all, because while the McLaren is attending the Goodwood Festival of Speed you will have a chance to win a ride in one, although you will have to make do with being a passenger. Again, this is part of McLaren’s and Microsoft’s marketing campaign for the new racing game.

What makes this partnership all the more special is the fact that the P1 will be the cover vehicle on the new Forza Motorsports 5, which will be an Xbox One title, which as you know will be the successor to the Xbox 360.

It will be interesting to see if the team behind the new game will be able to recreate the beauty of the McLaren P1, and how they will be able to recreate the extra boost you get from the electric motor. Get more spec details here.
