We finally have a good bit of news for Nintendo Wii U owners now, especially those who are patiently awaiting the arrival of Wii U exclusive Bayonetta 2. While Xbox 360 and PS3 users continue to be in disbelief over the game’s new home on Nintendo, Bayonetta 2 game director Hideki Kamiya has confirmed that the action title is heading to E3 2013 for a new gameplay presentation.
We all remember the exciting announcement trailer that Nintendo and Platinum Games unveiled for Bayonetta 2 in November of 2012, but it was missing the actual gameplay footage that fans badly wanted to see. Skip forward to June 2013 though and hopefully Nintendo will be ready to show some uninterrupted gameplay action – showing the graphical improvements up close from Bayonetta 1 on multiplatform.
Director Hideki Kamiya confirmed the news as usual on his Twitter account, revealing that the information will come as part of another Nintendo Direct session. This means that Bayonetta 2 now joins the likes of Mario Kart, Pokemon X and Y, Mario Wii U and Smash Bros as the games that are likely to be shown during E3 – Smash Bros being the only doubt, the rest are certain.
With the Wii U seemingly in a moment of struggle regarding third-party support, it’s also perfect timing to send out a message that the console can still pull off some great console exclusives. It also looks fairly certain now that Bayonetta 2 won’t have any chance of going down the same route as Rayman Legends – ie, going from a Wii U exclusive to a multiplatform release on every platform under the sun.
Does the release of Bayonetta 2 take on added significance for you as a Wii U owner?
