Imminent Sony VAIO Duo 13 release hinted

By Updated on

There were already hints that a larger Sony VAIO Duo was on the way, because there was a leaked video showing this very device. While this is not confirmation of its existence, a recent FCC filing could be, although Sony has yet to officially conform anything as yet.

However, the evidence seems to hint at the imminent Sony VAIO Duo 13 release. Its model number on the FCC website is SVD132A14L, it is more than likely the new Duo slider ultrabook, as Sony doesn’t have anything else similar to this in the works.

Some of the proposed Sony VAIO Duo 13 specs according to the filing is NFC, dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth. Okay, so this is not the most extensive specifications list, but that’s all they have to hand on the FCC website. However, Engadget says that the image does show an angular front section, which is consistent with the video we saw of the Duo 13 slider.

Let’s say that this is the new Sony VAIO Duo 13 and its release date is looming, then we do hope Sony managed to resolve the hinge problems that the smaller version suffered from. We also hope that they have managed to get some decent battery life out of this thing.

Going back to those specs for the Sony VAIO Duo 13, we thought you might like to know what has been rumored? An Intel Core i5 Processor, 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD, although there is said to be options to customize this, so maybe an i7 CPU, 8GB of RAM, but we’re not certain on the storage.

Sony VAIO Duo 13 Haswell processor rumors – There have been rumors that the new Sony slider could get the latest Intel CPU, but only high-end devices will be getting this improved processor in June, other devices will have to wait until later this year.
