Microsoft E3 2013 promises a ‘ton’ of exclusives

By Updated on

We have heard a lot of talk about how Microsoft are running out of new exclusives, instead preferring to secure deals to bring exclusive DLC to their Xbox systems such as Call of Duty and more recently, Tomb Raider. Microsoft has sent out a message though, telling the world that exclusives are coming soon and will be shown off at their E3 press conference in June.

It is shaping up to be the mother of all E3 events, with Sony and Microsoft duking it out to convince consumers that their respective next-gen consoles are worth a purchase. Microsoft has an event planned for May 21 and we’ve now heard from Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg that the event will consist of an introduction to the next Xbox, with their E3 event specifically being ‘all about the games’.

To go into more detail, Greenberg also revealed in a podcast that they have a ‘ton of exclusives’ to show, and also world premieres – one of which we already know to be the first Call of Duty Ghosts gameplay that Activision has frequently been teasing over the last few weeks.

It means that while Sony has exclusives such as Infamous: Second Son, Killzone Shadow Fall and Knack on the way, Microsoft will be hitting back at E3 with some exclusives of their own. What can we expect to see from the company, or perhaps more importantly – what type of games would you like to see?

We think it would be great if we see some exclusive RPG/action type of games on the new system, as it’s clear that we don’t need to see another shooter turn up as an exclusive on the Xbox. Thinking out of the box will be key to securing new consumers over to Xbox, so let’s hope that Microsoft brings up a few surprises at their event – not just content that we are already expecting.

Should Sony now be worried about Microsoft’s ‘ton’ of exclusives that they have to show, or not?
