HTC One Sprint update targets sensitivity problems

We have some great news for owners of the HTC One superphone on Sprint now, as we can confirm that the very first software update for the Sprint version is now rolling out. It means that by the time the weekend is over, everyone should be on a new HTC One software version with sensitivity improvements.

HTC One Sprint update targets sensitivity problems

If you have the device, you’ll know that there has been a bit of a headache involving the capacitive buttons on the HTC One, with the home and back buttons not being responsive enough – often resulting in consumers having to press the buttons multiple times before an actual tap is registered.

Sprint has revealed in their update patch notes, that they have “Improved Back and Home key sensitivity”, which can only be interpreted as a direct fix to the issues, which is great news. It’s refreshing to see Sprint on the ball with consumer feedback and we are betting that some of you with the AT&T version are hoping for a swift fix over the very same issue.

The good news, is that those who have already received the 1.29.651.10 update are reporting that touch sensitivity on the home and back keys is now working as they should. Don’t panic if you haven’t received an OTA notification to install yet, as Sprint has already warned on their patch notes that the update will be rolling out in stages.

They have also recommended users to attempt to push the update manually as well, to see if that will speed up the process for you. Along with the sensitivity fix, you should also see some BlinkFeed improvements, as well as an updated version of the Sprint Zone client – for those that use that.

So there we have it. If you have the Sprint HTC One, let us know if your sensitivity has improved on the back and home keys after installing this update.
