Sony PS4 gameplay demos hands-on in August

By Updated on

We have just heard about the official announcement of Call of Duty Ghosts from Activision, but now it’s time to switch focus back to Sony’s PS4 console. We are expecting to finally see the hardware unveiled in June at E3 2013, but now we have confirmation that PS4 gameplay demos will be available to the public at a separate event in August.

As most of you are well aware, Sony has confirmed a 2013 Holiday release for the PS4 in the US. They haven’t mentioned any release information yet for Asia or Europe launches, but this crucial info is expected to come during Sony’s E3 keynote. While it hasn’t actually been confirmed yet that hardware will be on show in June, this now looks to have been set in stone with the confirmation of GameStop’s 2013 expo in August.

The first details on GameStop Expo 2013 has just become available, and the company has revealed that fans who attend will have the chance to go hands-on with some playable titles on next-generation consoles. That presumably means that a collection of PS4 titles will be playable, so we’re guessing that the PS4 hardware will also be on show in August – confirming it’s appearance in June.

It also means that people who attend the GameStop will have the chance to play some Xbox ’720′ games as well, making GameStop’s Expo a big deal indeed – especially for those who have no chance of attending E3. The expo will take place on August 28, at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas.

If you are a GameStop Power-up member, you can get a ticket for $35 but there will also be VIP tickets available for $90 – more information can be read at the official website here.

It sounds to us like an unmissable event for those able to travel to Las Vegas. Imagine if the likes of Killzone Shadow Fall and inFamous: Second Son are playable – you would definitely pay $35 for that early privilege right? Let us know if you are near the Las Vegas area, or wouldn’t mind travelling to get an early hands-on preview of PS4 launch titles.

don’t understand why sony so concerned with USA as they don’t sell great there, should be asia and Europe there main launch pad but wont be and if they don’t launch in Europe the same time they will lose!
