With the Sony Xperia Tablet Z already up for pre-order and shipping expected on May 22, it’s obvious that many consumers will be wondering if they should go for this or the Microsoft Surface Pro, which will be available in more countries by the end of May.
Whenever a new device is released it’s always pitted against a similar device, so with the Tablet Z you’d have to look at another Android device, although some of you might still consider the iPad, although that would be going over to iOS instead.
It’s for this reason why we find it strange that there are already Surface Pro vs. Xperia Tablet Z comparisons, as we find these unreasonable comparisons because the former is a Windows 8 hybrid device. However, when it comes to tablets people are more open than they are with their phones, so maybe its not so strange after all?
In one review we can see that they have given 5 reasons to buy the Surface Pro, whereas they have given the Xperia Tablet Z 19 reasons. It seems as though they are backing Sony’s tablet, but it all depends on what you are looking for in a device like this.
It’s hard to see just how good the Xperia Tablet Z really is considering it isn’t even on the market yet. Whereas the Surface Pro has been available for almost three months now, and while it had a shaky start the reviews have been positive.
There have been several negative reviews, as well as sales not as healthy as similar devices, but you have to remember availability was limited to the US and Canada, so once other countries get their hands on the Surface Pro the outlook should be far more positive.
Microsoft is said to be offering a smaller Surface tablet, so we have to wonder if Sony will release a smaller Xperia tablet Z as well?
