It almost seems inevitable that Apple would want to get their biggest product back on track to a WWDC launch at some point, although the latest rumors are suggesting an iPhone 6 release date, or 5S, could be the product to start this adjustment.
The iPhone has always been used to launching at WWDC but this strategy changed for a number of reasons, top of the list is supply problems, and in our opinion fall is pretty crowded for new products already.
Apple iPhone 6 release date in double validation – we have heard a few rumors for weeks now that focus on the iPhone 6, 5S, launching at WWDC but the latest proof has arrived in the form of leaked documents. In fact, we have seen two sources of documents that both hint towards the same launch and iPhone 6 release date window.
The first leaked document had been detailed in an earlier article we published today, which revealed 9to5Mac received a leaked document pointing to the first generation iPhone becoming obsolete on June 11. This is the day after WWDC starts and is clearly timed, so it would make sense for this change to tie in with the launch of a new iPhone.
KDDI is the second source of these two leaked documents and this French website is claiming that information is passing within the mobile operator, which points to the iPhone 6 or 5S going up for pre-order on June 20.
This would fit with the traditional launch after WWDC that we knew for years, but some people wonder if this would be a minor iPhone update in 2013 with a major change in 2014 that includes more than one size. The issue here would be if some fans couldn’t wait until 2014 for a bigger iPhone 6 or 7 to arrive, although it is fair to say that not all iPhone users want a bigger screen.
WWDC 2013 the launch pad according to two documents – the event will take place June 10-14, and the Apple keynote with Tim Cook is expected on the first day. We are likely to see a new iPad mini 2 and iPad 5 in fall, but in our opinion launching the biggest Apple product at the same time is not a good idea, so expect Apple to get the iPhone 6 or 5S back to WWDC in 2013 or 2014. If we go by the latest leaks then it should be in June this year.
It is worth noting that the name of the next iPhone could be iPhone 6, 5S, or something else but it will be the 7th generation iPhone to launch by Apple.
Deceptive Tim Cook – Within the last couple of weeks Apple’s CEO said there would be new products this fall and throughout 2014, although he did get grilled on the chances of an iPhone 6 seeing a release date sooner, but Cook continued to highlight fall 2013 as the start for new products.
This news contradicts the two leaked documents above, so should we treat the above rumors as weak or could Cook be classed as being deceptive? Leave a comment with your thoughts, in our opinion it would make sense for the next iPhone to launch at WWDC once again but if Apple don’t offer more choice in screen size it could be very damaging for them.
