Will the next iPhone be called the iPhone 5S or the iPhone 6? While that debate is still ongoing, it’s a known fact that Apple likes to release a new iPhone every year. The 7th generation device is on the way towards the end of the year if rumors are to be believed, and now we have information on one surprise carrier that may be getting in on the act alongside Verizon, AT&T and Sprint.
iPhone and pre-paid carriers are one subject that consumers are becoming very interested in, especially considering the fact that prices are much more reasonable and manageable for those who can’t really afford a premium price plan on other networks. Boost Mobile has been quietly growing in popularity over the last few years and today we hear rumors on how Apple may be planning to bring their next iPhone to the pre-paid network during the 3rd quarter of 2013.
EVLeaks are a source of information, usually very reliable when it comes to sharing official smartphone renders weeks before they are officially announced. This time, they have sent out an interesting rumor on Twitter, claiming that Boost Mobile will provide the new iPhone later this year.
For those of you familiar with Boost Mobile, it isn’t actually the first time that we have heard rumors on a Boost Mobile-powered iPhone. There was a big rumor during Summer of 2012, in which Boost Mobile was thought to be offering the iPhone 5 to consumers on a pre-paid plan in September.
Unfortunately though, it didn’t happen for whatever reason so we should still be skeptical on this happening on this occasion. Boost Mobile currently offers a very desirable plan for $50, in which you get unlimited data, unlimited minutes and unlimited texts per month. There’s also the additional Shrinkage incentive, which reduces monthly payments by $5 when customers pay their bill in a timely manner.
It will be great news if it happened, but nothing is guaranteed just yet – especially when it comes to Apple. More pre-paid iPhone options are always welcome though in our book. Let us know if you have used Boost Mobile in the past and whether you would jump at the chance of an iPhone 6 with a Boost Mobile $50 plan.
