Microsoft may have an Xbox ‘720’ event already lined up for May 21, but we’ve just heard that the company will also be having one more event before their annual E3 press conference festivities commence. Microsoft usually have a pre-E3 event each year, and now it has been confirmed to be taking place on Monday June 10.
We thought this year may be a little different in relation to Microsoft’s scheduling, considering that they have a fairly monumental event on May 21 to show the world their next-generation Xbox for the very first time after months of rumor and speculation.
It would have been understandable if we didn’t hear from the company before E3, but word has now spread that Microsoft has also booked out the Galen Center in LA on Monday June 10, for another glimpse at all-things Xbox before the main E3 2013 bonanza takes place between June 11 and June 13.
Invites have not yet been sent out for the pre-E3 2013 event, so we have no idea what they will be showing. One possible outcome could be that the May 21 event won’t be as big as initially thought, and the company will use the Galen Center event to give a much more detailed showing on the next Xbox. That would then leave the company to perhaps focus strictly on software during their E3 keynote, and upcoming exclusives that they hope to tempt consumers into a purchase ahead of Sony’s PS4.
There’s also the possibility that Microsoft will use the June 10 event to bring some more celebrities out to play, in another attempt to showcase their global brand. We would much rather see further details on the next Xbox though, maybe even a technical insight into the next system as we saw with Mark Cerny’s bonus PS4 showing at GDC 2013.
As we await confirmation of the June 10 pre-E3 event, let us know what you would like to see Microsoft show at the event. Are you a fan of the celebrity entertainment parties, or would you like to keep it strictly Xbox-related?
