Nexus 7 sequel, sales predictions for 2nd-gen

From the many different rumors we have read in regards to the Nexus 7 sequel, there’s a general consensus that a Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU will be running things. As for some of the other Nexus 7 2nd-gen specs, those are still up in the air for the moment.

Even though we have know idea when the new Nexus device from ASUS will be released, there has been several Nexus 7 2 sales predictions, and if they are correct then the tablet could generate a good income for ASUS and Google.

According to a DigiTimes source, they believe that the next-generation Nexus 7 will ship around eight million units by the end of the year, with one million of them being sold in May. If we are to believe these sales figures, then the Nexus 7 sequel release date could be at the start of next month.

We do find this release date a little strange, because if the Nexus 7 successor were to be released at the start of May, then it would be before Google I/O. But if the new Nexus tablet saw a release during the event, then those one million sales would happen in just half a month, which would be impressive.

The release date for this deceive is something we are uncertain of, as well as those specs, but maybe Google and ASUS would wish to wait until a year after the original, which would mean the Nexus 7 sequel would not be released until July?

Whatever happens this new version will need to come with a competitive price, because of the choice of other 7-inch Android tablets on the market, as well as keeping a fine balance with a spec upgrade as well. It looks as though ASUS and Google will have to undertake a fine balancing if they want to achieve those sort of sales figures.

It won’t. The Nexus line will never have a memory card slot. If 16/32gb isn’t enough then you’ll need to look elsewhere.
